5 bold predictions for the Rams vs. 49ers matchup in Week 6

The Los Angeles Rams Will Force 3 Turnovers

Neither one of these teams is solid in the turnover department. As it currently stands, the Rams have a 0 turnover differential, while the 49ers have a -2 turnover differential. Typically, in divisional games that are close, a single turnover can make all of the difference.

In this one, I have the Rams winning the turnover differential by forcing 3 and giving away 0. 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo has not been the same since the Super Bowl loss. While he is dealing an injury — his status is up in the air for this game — he has had a problem of turning the ball over.

In the Week 5 game against the Dolphins, Garoppolo completed 7 of 17 for 77 yards while throwing 2 bad interceptions. One of them came on a deep route against a cover 2 zone. Garoppolo placed the ball on the inside shoulder, which is a mistake against cover 2 as two safeties are back there. The safety read it perfectly and intercepted a poorly thrown ball. He was eventually benched, but the 49ers have an excuse as he is “injured”.

I am sure he will play this Sunday in an important game. When he does, I expect him to make poor decisions with the football. The Rams have one of best the front 4’s in all of the NFL. I am predicting two interceptions and one fumble.
