Jared Goff Will Lead The Game Winning Drive
As mentioned earlier, I predicted a 17-14 final score in favor of the LA Rams. I see this game being a defensive battle with Rams QB Jared Goff, leading the troops down the field, setting up the game winning field goal. Goff quietly has had a good year. He has completed 109 of 152 (71.7%) for 1,372 yards, 8 touchdowns and only 3 interceptions.
Coach McVay and this Rams offense is known for the jet motion, creating misdirection for the defense. In the Red Zone, they also look to pick up the tempo going no huddle, preventing defensive substitutions. Goff is better under center than he is in shotgun because of the motions. WR Robert Woods is the primary motion guy and he keeps the defense on their toes as the Rams like to hand him the ball.
Both defenses are going to be flying all over the place. I am sure Goff will have an interception or two, but he will ultimately help his team win this ball game by driving them down the field at the end. The 49ers defense sure isn’t the same without Nick Bosa and Solomon Thomas, but do not count out their playmaking ability with their speedy linebackers and strong secondary.
This is a big game for both teams as every game is important when you play in a great division. This is the first divisional game for the Rams and the second for the Niners. The Niners are currently 0-1 in divisional play as they lost in Week 1 to the Arizona Cardinals. Although it is Week 6, this game has huge implications on the future of this division. Jared Goff must come ready to play and remain poised throughout the game.
