Six-Sack Day For Ravens Defense
The Baltimore Ravens defense is full of monsters. The Philadelphia Eagles offensive line is… not.
The Baltimore Ravens are masters of creating pressure and stopping plays before they get started. Through five weeks, the Ravens defense ranks fifth in the NFL in sacks– with 16 total through five games. The Philadelphia Eagles, on the other hand, currently rank third in most sacks allowed– giving up a total of 19, with only the Bengals and the Football Team allowing more.
This is a matchup nightmare. Calais Campbell is elite. Rookie linebacker Patrick Queen has proven to be an instant impact force on defense. The Ravens are even getting a heavy dose of pressure from unexpected spots, with seven of their sixteen total sacks coming from players in the secondary.
For an Eagles team that’s already been struggling to keep defenses out of the backfield, and now might be losing their starting right tackle in Lane Johnson, Carson Wentz could be running for his life for most of this game. The Ravens are averaging just over three sacks a game on defense. Expect them to be way over in Week 6.
