5. Lamar Jackson Throws for 300+ Yards
While Lamar Jackson is known for his ability as a runner, he has grown into an elite passer. He throws a beautiful deep ball. With “Hollywood” Brown as a deep threat, Jackson has a legitimate receiver who can stretch the field. Jackson and Brown have very good chemistry together and it shows.
Last week wasn’t the first time Jackson hit Brown deep on a beautiful throw. Last season Jackson found Brown on a deep throw for Brown’s first career touchdown. However, unlike in the Dolphins game last season, Jackson hit Brown in tight coverage on a perfectly thrown ball.
The Texans’ weak link on defense is their secondary. While Houston has a decent pass rush, Jackson is great at buying time. The Texans will have a very tough time bringing Jackson down. That means these speedy Baltimore receivers will have more time to get open. Look for Jackson to expose this Texans’ defense as a passer as well as a runner.
There is no doubt that Lamar is one of the league’s best players. He is exciting, he is smart, and he is turning into an elite quarterback. Jackson is truly changing the NFL as we know it. This week we may see one of Lamar’s best performances as a passer.
The NFL has never seen a player with the skill-set of Lamar Jackson and the Ravens are making the absolute most of it in their offense. Houston will have a very hard time containing him in this matchup, much like most of the league.
