4. David Johnson Records 150+ All-Purpose Yards
The Texans’ offensive line has some holes. However, David Johnson was able to create some space last week. There were glimpses of greatness where Johnson of being the player he was in 2016. He may not lead the NFL in all-purpose yards again, but Johnson could still be a very valuable running back.
The Texans need Johnson to have a good season if they want this offense to be successful. Last week against the Chiefs, Johnson had a strong outing with 11 carries for 77 rushing yards and one touchdown along with three receptions and 32 receiving yards.
Johnson’s ability to jump cut and find holes in the offensive line was a fun sight to behold last week. Johnson is at his best when he is running straight ahead. He still has very good vision and has the quickness to hit open gaps in the defensive line. Duke Johnson is still a reliable back, but there is no doubt that David Johnson could turn into a workhorse in the Texans’ backfield.
The Texans do not have a superstar receiver with DeAndre Hopkins now a member of the Cardinals. Instead they will spread the ball around to multiple receivers. At the end of the game, Johnson will end up having around 100 rudhing yards and 50 receiving yards.
