2. Josh Jacobs Goes For 100 Yards
Josh Jacobs burst onto the scene as a rookie and proved to be a reliable back for the Raiders. This has carried into his second season. Jacobs is the No. 1 option for the Raiders and it showed in their Week 1 victory.
The Raiders gave the ball to Jacobs 25 times in this game. He finished with 93 yards and three touchdowns. He averaged just 3.7 yards per carry but received a big enough workload to make up for it.
This will continue throughout the season as the next leading rusher had just four carries. The Saints allowed 66 yards on the ground to Ronald Jones before the Bucs had to abandon the run game.
For the Raiders to hang around in this game, they will have to keep the ball out of the hands of the Saints. They can do so by establishing the run game. Jacobs will be big in this game and he will have to act as the workhorse.
