5. Watt Bros. Combine for 3 Sacks
While JJ Watt already boasts one of the most impressive Hall of Fame worthy resumes of all time (3-time Defensive Player Of The Year, multiple 20 sack seasons), TJ has emerged as one of the favorites for DPOY for the second year in a row.
Since entering the league in 2017, the younger Watt brother has tallied 186 tackles, 37 sacks, and 4 interceptions. He also currently leads the league with a 43% win rate as an edge defender.
JJ has seen significantly decreased production due to injuries over the past few years, yet is approaching 100 career sacks (98 currently) after notching 2 more last week against Lamar Jackson.
Although the Steelers formidable offensive line will be a challenge, Watt is the Texans’ greatest pass-rushing asset and will be the most important factor in keeping Ben Roethlisberger in check. Alternatively, the Texans’ much improved offensive line is still leading the league in both sacks allowed (8) and pressures faced (57) through two weeks. The Watt brothers should both wreak havoc on Sunday.
