5 Bold Predictions For Seahawks at 49ers Super Wild Card Weekend

The San Francisco 49ers are the hottest team in the NFL entering the playoffs. They are riding a 10-game winning streak, which helped them surpass the Minnesota Vikings for the No. 2 spot in the NFC.

In their first game, they will be facing off with a familiar opponent, their NFC West rivals, the Seattle Seahawks. The 49ers swept the regular season matchup, winning 27-7 in Week 2 in San Francisco and then 21-13 in Seattle on Thursday Night Football in Week 15.

The 49ers certainly aren’t going to be easy to beat, but the Seahawks are hoping that the third time’s the charm and that they can pick up the win in the most important matchup of the season. What can we expect from these teams? Here are five bold predictions for when the Seahawks face off with the 49ers on Super Wild Card Weekend.

5. Geno Smith Earns New Contract

Arguably the biggest surprise this season has been the performance of Geno Smith. Smith hasn’t been a starter since 2014 with the New York Jets. He has been a backup since with the New York GiantsLos Angeles Chargers and Seahawks, not even playing a single snap in 2019.

This offseason he won the starting job over Drew Lock and with his performance this season, put himself in line for a major raise. If Seattle doesn’t keep him as a starter, someone will bring him on as their No. 1 quarterback.

He will cement that status against the 49ers this weekend, putting together another impressive game in a season that has been full of them. He threw for 197 yards in the first meeting and 238 in the second. This time he will throw go above his season average of 251.9 yards per game and add two touchdowns for good measure to keep the Seahawks in the game.
