5 dark-horse NFL MVP candidates for the 2020 season

Derrick Henry, Titans

Derrick Henry, Tennessee Titans

Derrick Henry was a monster last season. The second half of the year he was unstoppable. During the playoffs Henry carried the Titans to the AFC Championship. This season all eyes will be on Henry. The Titans offense runs through him. He could lead the NFL in rushing yard, attempts, and touchdowns.

Henry is a classic power back with a ferocious stiff arm, a high motor, and the ability to run through any defender. Simply put, he can dominate the competition. While most NFL teams are built around the passing game, the Titans are opting to build around Henry. The fact that Henry carries the offense shows why he deserves to be MVP.

While Henry is a dominant back, he isn’t as versatile as backs like Barkley or McCaffrey. Henry also had a ton of carries last season, all those carries could eventually take a toll on Henry. However, if Derrick Henry can perform as well as he did during the playoffs I believe winning MVP is a real possibility.
