Denver Broncos
If nothing else, the Denver Broncos will be one of the most interesting teams in the NFL to watch this season. They finished 7-9 in 2019 and have the unfortunate task of playing in the AFC West with the Chiefs. Denver did it’s part in filling team needs in the offseason.
First, the Broncos decided to throw Drew Lock into the fire towards the end of this season to see what they have. Lock gave fans and the organization hope for the future. The Broncos knew that they needed to get their young quarterback some weapons. They addressed this in the draft immediately. Denver used the 15th pick on Jerry Jeudy, which was a steal. They doubled down in the second round by adding Penn State product K.J. Hamler.
The Broncos added one of the fastest receivers in the 2020 NFL Draft in Hamler and arguably the best all-around prospect at the position in Jeudy. They will join an offensive attack that already included Philip Lindsay. Let’s not forget that Denver signed Melvin Gordon to a two-year, $16 million deal. The addition of Gordon solidified the backfield.
This is not to say that Denver is going to overtake Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs, because that task seems impossible for any AFC West foe. This is just saying the the Broncos went through a complete overhaul on the offensive side and it would not be surprising to see them as a wild card team.
