5 dark-horse Super Bowl contenders for the 2020 NFL season

Dallas Cowboys

It was fun looking at an up-and-coming team in Denver, but now we move to a team that has Super Bowl aspirations. The Dallas Cowboys have had championship hopes for years now and are never able to take the next step. Fortunately, they play in the NFC East where it is a two team race.

The Philadelphia Eagles are expected to go toe-to-toe with the Cowboys. Despite the significant improvement of the Washington Redskins with Chase Young, they are a few years away. The New York Giants feel good about Daniel Jones, but their team is poor in almost every other way. In typical Dallas fashion, the season will have drama.

The Cowboys have not been able to meet Dak Prescott’s lofty expectations and his future with the team is up in the air. In 2020 at least, Prescott will have plenty of options to throw the ball to. Dallas signed Amari Cooper to a monster five-year, $100 million deal. Michael Gallup is quickly becoming a star and they stole CeeDee Lamb with the 17th pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Dallas hired Mike McCarthy to be their next head coach. They have one of the most complete teams they have in a long time. Not to mention one of the best runners in the league in Ezekiel Elliott. Could this be the year that the Cowboys break through?
