5 Insane Statistics For Browns’ Nick Chubb Through 7 Weeks

Nick Chubb, Browns

The Cleveland Browns have struggled thus far in the 2022 season. They are 2-5, losing four of those games by three points or less. The defense has really let them down this season, as Jacoby Brissett has done a solid job keeping the offense afloat as he holds down the fort until Deshaun Watson returns from his suspension.

Of course, any quarterback would look good turning around and handing the ball off to Nick Chubb. Chubb has been fantastic for the Browns this season as essentially a one-man wrecking crew on offense.

The former second-round pick has been good throughout his NFL career, but he has taken things to another level this season. He is currently leading the NFL in rushing yards with 740 and rushing touchdowns with eight.

Saquon Barkley is right on his heels when it comes to rushing yards, as the New York Giants star has 726 yards. There is a three-way tie behind Chubb for rushing touchdowns as Jamaal Williams of the Detroit Lions, Josh Jacobs of the Las Vegas Raiders and Jalen Hurts, quarterback of the Philadelphia Eagles, all have six.

While those are truly impressive numbers for Chubb, it does not paint the whole picture of just how dominant he has been. According to PFF, he is also leading the league in yards after contact, missed tackles forced, and explosive runs.

The 510 yards that Chubb has racked up after contact would rank sixth in the NFL alone, His 47 missed tackles forced show just how difficult it has been to take him down this season. Explosive runs are gains of 15+ yards, which Chubb has already racked up 24 of.

The Browns are struggling to win games but not because of Chubb. He is doing everything he can to keep this offense productive, putting them on his back on a weekly basis. Chubb is performing at an MVP level, the rest of the team just has to hop on and follow suit.
