5 major X-Factors for the Dolphins in Week 3 vs. Jaguars

The Miami Dolphins are coming off two straight losses to very good teams. Although losing is never what you want, Miami was only a few plays away from victory last week. Now, they will take on an underrated Jacksonville Jaguars squad in Week 3.

The Dolphins are a team that could sneak by some teams and steal a few games this year. Miami has a lot of talent in key positions. While they aren’t household names, DeVante Parker and Preston Williams are both very good receivers. They could give this Jaguars secondary some trouble this week.

While the Dolphins have talent at receiver, Mike Gesicki is emerging as one of the more intriguing tight end prospects. He causes matchup problems and is a fantastic safety blanket for Ryan Fitzpatrick. After a strong performance against the Bills, the young tight end may be in for another big week against the Jaguars.

The Dolphins’ secondary was embarrassed by Josh Allen last week. While he plays with a much different style, Gardner Minshew II has been playing well early on this season — spreading the ball to their many talented wideouts. Miami’s secondary will have to play their best game of the season if they want to win this week.

The Dolphins’ offensive line has looked better so far this season compared to last. While they are still sitting towards the bottom, for now, there’s no reason why this group can’t jump towards being a middle of the pack line as the season goes on.

The Jaguars’ defensive front has been doing a good job of stopping the run. However, they have had trouble getting to the quarterback. Fitzpatrick can be dangerous when given time.

Let’s take a look at five major X-Factors for the Miami Dolphins when they take on the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 3 of the 2020 NFL season.
