5 major X-Factors for the Jaguars in Week 3 vs. Dolphins

1. Gardner Minshew II

The Jaguars offense has looked very efficient in the first two weeks of the season. Despite two interceptions, Minshew played well against the Titans. The Jaguars second year QB is showing a lot of promise. However, at times there are mistakes that he cannot continue to make.

Minshew, like many young QB’s will try and do too much with the Football. He has incredible accuracy but doesn’t really have the zip to sling the ball through tight windows. That’s fine, his timing, precision, and accuracy are more than enough to make up for it. Minshew just has to limit the turnovers and he could be a quality Franchise Quarterback for a very young offense built around him

This week Minshew is facing a banged up Dolphins secondary. Miami’s starting corner Byron Jones will be out this week. He needs to continue playing with efficiency just like he has the previous two weeks. If we get a similar outing as last week without the two interceptions than Jacksonville should win this game.

Minshew has a very strong receiving core. The offensive line has done a pretty good job thus far protecting him. The running game is complimenting the passing attack perfectly. When Minshew is rolling this offense is very hard to stop.

While he has yet to have a poor game, in the shirt turnaround there’s always a chance that offenses aren’t as prepared. This could be dangerous fr Minshew who relies so much on timing and his ability to read the opposing defense.

Minshew is a very smart quarterback and is showing that he is actually one of the leagues more accurate passers. If he can keep that up for 16 games, there should be no doubts about the Jaguars future behind center.
