5 NFL running backs poised to take a step back in 2020

Coming into the new league year in 2020, it should be expected for more than a few players to experience some rust once they finally hit the field. Offseason programs have been significantly altered, draft picks and free agent signings haven’t been fully oriented with the teams, and public workouts have been minimal.

With that being said, which running backs from around the league are likely to take a step backward this year?

The lifespan of an NFL rusher is notoriously shorter than ever and their contracts reflect that fact, but it seems like talented players keep disappearing after only a couple of years in the spotlight. Here are some players that found varying levels of success in 2019, but can be expected to produce less this year.
