5 NFL teams who need to make a trade before the 2020 season

3. Dallas Cowboys

If the Vikings did not have the strongest draft, than it was the Cowboys. Dallas entered draft day needing help in the secondary. This was where their first pick was going to go until they saw CeeDee Lamb fall to No. 17 in the 2020 NFL Draft. This was too good to pass up on.

The Cowboys ended up taking advantage of a second player dropping. Alabama corner Trevon Diggs slipped and became the Cowboys’ second round selection. Could the Cowboys add another SEC defensive back in Jamal Adams?

Only the New York Jets would consider trading one of the top safeties in the league. Adams is a difficult personality off the field but he plays the game with passion and wants to win. It is safe to say that he has a better chance at winning in Dallas than New York. The Jets have not given Adams an extension and even threw his name around in some trade rumors. While the easy and obvious decision is to extend Adams, you never know with the Jets.

For Dallas, this would be a slam dunk. Adams is still 24 years old. He would be well worth a first round pick or two. The Cowboys need to win and need to win soon. They enter the regular season year after year with lofty expectations that are never reached. Adding a player of Adams’ caliber would help get there. And we all know that Jerry Jones is not afraid to pay anyone, except Dak Prescott.
