2. Green Bay Packers
The Green Bay Packers won the NFC North with a 13-3 record in 2019. They reached the NFC Championship Game but were embarrassed by the San Francisco 49ers. Aaron Rodgers had a Rodgers’ season with 4,002 yards, 26 touchdowns, and only four interceptions.
The most impressive part about the season from No. 12, he did it mainly without any help at wide receiver. Heading into the draft, the entire football world knew that Green Bay was in desperate need of a wide receiver. The Packers did not get the message. Instead of getting Rodgers some help on the outside, they drafted his replacement in Jordan Love. They would go on to selected A.J. Dillon in round two. Yes, a running back.
In fact, the Packers did not add a receiver in the draft at all. They signed Devin Funchess in free agency which is a risky player to add. It could be a high reward but he has had difficulty staying on the field. Funchess has not played a full season since 2017 and finished with 840 yards and eight touchdowns. This could be a high reward if healthy, but there are no guarantees.
Green Bay, go get your all time quarterback a wide receiver. The Packers will need to score to keep up with teams in the NFC and right now, Rodgers cannot do it alone. And don’t even say that Love is the key to a championship under center.
