5 NFL teams who need to make a trade before the 2020 season

Imagine having Tom Brady for 20 years than suddenly shift to Jarrett Stidham and Brian Hoyer? That is the horrifying reality for the Patriots.

Brady is now a member of the Bucs and Stidham could be the starting quarterback in Foxborough. There is little hope that he can lead the team and make them championship contenders. There is one possible move out there that makes sense. That is to bring back Jacoby Brissett.

The Indianapolis Colts clearly gave up on Brissett when they signed Philip Rivers. They also selected Jacob Eason in the mid-rounds of the draft. Brissett is done as a Colt so Indy might as well get a return. For the Patriots, this makes sense considering Brissett already knows the system and how things work under Bill Belichick.

Belichick never wanted to trade Jimmy Garoppolo. He believed that Garoppolo was Brady’s replacement, but the timing did not add up. Not to mention Brady won an MVP award and Super Bowl after Garoppolo was traded. His time was not up yet.

Anyway, his time is up now and the Patriots are stuck. Bringing in Brissett would add a more competent starter than is on the roster. At worst, there is a three player competition in training camp. Belichick usually has a plan and it is hard to go against the greatest NFL coach ever, but this one is hard to figure out.
