Tennessee Titans
Having a reliable backup quarterback option is crucial for a team that is coming off an appearance in an AFC Championship Game as in the case of the Tennessee Titans. They currently lack the necessary talent to be prepared in the event Ryan Tannehill were to go down with an injury.
Needing to turn to a player like Logan Woodside would not exactly instill confidence in the Titans if a backup quarterback was needed to take the field. The running game certainly sets the tone for the Titans but that can only take a team so far if the quarterback is too underwhelming.
The only experience as a starter Woodside has as a professional came in the Alliance of American Football. He was selected in the seventh round of the 2018 NFL Draft and has been just a practice squad player for the last two seasons of his career.
Not only is Kaepernick a far more experienced quarterback than Woodside at the NFL level, there is more versatility due to the former 49ers standout’s mobility. That could be intriguing when paired with Derrick Henry in the backfield in ways Marcus Mariota was supposed to pan out.
