Minnesota Vikings
It was another successful season for the Minnesota Vikings relative to the expectations many had for them. They upset the New Orleans Saints at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome on Wild Card Weekend with 26-20 being the final score. Their playoff run quickly ended afterward though.
The draft class the Vikings brought in this offseason was genuinely a strong haul at a variety of positions. It’s just difficult to trust so many rookies to produce at a high enough level with a shortened offseason when they already have to adjust to the NFL level.
There was already a need for the Vikings to add more receiving talent alongside their top two receiving threats heading into the offseason. While they selected Justin Jefferson with the No. 22 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the best outcome is lateral results compared to last season.
Many of the Vikings’ veteran defensive backs departed in free agency after underachieving last season. They were mostly replaced with draft selections, which is a particularly tough position to play and hit the ground running. They also still haven’t brought back Everson Griffen.
