Week 3 of the NFL regular season provided some exciting matchups. While some teams maintained their consistency and improved to a 3-0 start, others faltered. One of the biggest surprises though comes from the Bengals who are now 0-3 and find themselves in some serious trouble.
Quite a few teams are struggling with injuries to key players while some are in need of roster improvements. Having said that, let us take a look at some trades we would like to see happen before the start of Week 4.
E.J. Speed – LB – Indianapolis Colts – Buffalo Bills
After the offseason the Bills had, there were a lot of question marks as to how good this team would be, but after Buffalo’s demolition of the Jaguars in Week 3, it is safe to say that the Bills are doing just fine.
Being one of the teams with a perfect 3-0 record, Buffalo started out slowly in their opening game but managed to come from behind against the Cardinals. Since then, they have looked unbeatable with commanding wins over Miami and Jacksonville.
At the moment the Bills are looking good on both sides of the ball with the offense putting up big scores and the defense limiting the opposition to well under 20 points per game. With Matt Milano out, the one area the Bills could use help is the linebacker position.
Colts linebacker E.J. Speed could be a good fit for the Bills and he is one player Indianapolis could move on from. Speed will bring more athleticism and will be more versatile allowing Buffalo to have more creativity on defense.
Dameon Pierce – RB – Houston Texans – Denver Broncos
The Denver Broncos got their first win of the season in Week 3 against Tampa Bay which was a pleasant surprise. The Buccaneers started the new season 2-0 and were playing some great football before their run-in with the Broncos.
Despite earning a comprehensive 26-7 win, Denver still has several concerns to address. The most evident of which is their lack of quality in the running back room. Bo Nix being a rookie QB, the Broncos should look to add an experienced back such as Dameon Pierce from the Texans.
The Texans currently have Joe Mixon and Cam Akers as their starting and backup options which means they could consider trading away Pierce.
D.J. Jones – DT – Denver Broncos – Green Bay Packers
The Packers have been in need of a defensive tackle since the start of the season. Green Bay’s DT unit has not been performing up to standard while Kenny Clark has been going through injury problems.
Jones is a seven-year veteran who has played various positions on the defensive line which would make him an ideal candidate to add to the roster.
Jimmy Garoppolo – QB – Los Angeles Rams – Miami Dolphins
An interesting trade would be if the Dolphins go after Jimmy Garoppolo to sort out their quarterback problems. Starter, Tua Tagovailoa is on the IR list meaning the earliest he can come back is Week 8. At present, the Dolphins are playing with backup QB Skylar Thompson but Miami should consider Garoppolo if they want to remain significant in the AFC East during Tua’s absence.
Robert Woods – WR – Houston Texans – Los Angeles Rams
The Los Angeles Rams are struggling mightily with several key players out injured. The wide receiver unit is one of the more affected units with both Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua injured. According to the latest updates, Nacua could be out till Week 9 while Kupp’s timeline is unknown but it looks like he will miss at least a few games.
Wide receiver Robert Woods could be an ideal fit for the Rams as Woods is currently low on Houston’s depth. Moreover, Woods was a member of the Rams from 2017 to 2021 which means he is familiar with their system.
