5 offenses that improved the most using the NFL Draft

New York Giants

The focus for the New York Giants was to improve their offensive line to give Daniel Jones more time to throw and better running lanes for Saquon Barkley. They signed Cam Fleming in free agency and followed it up by selecting Andrew Thomas, Matt Peart, and Shane Lemieux in the NFL Draft.

The impact of the Giants selecting Thomas and inserting him at left tackle should not be understated. According to PFF, Nate Solder alone allowed 57 pressures last season and that was seven more than any other player. Additionally, the duo of Solder and Mike Remmers allowed a league-most 97 pressures.

While it may end up being the case that Thomas is the only player that ends up starting in 2020, the trickle effect on the rest of the offensive line should yield significant improvement. It will help Will Hernandez to improve playing alongside better talent and Solder will move to the right side of the line.

There is already plenty of talent the Giants have offensively beyond their offensive line, they just never managed to get on the field at the same time. They will have Darius Slayton, Evan Engram, Golden Tate, and Sterling Shepard along with improved offensive line play.
