Alex Anzalone

Another player that has dealt with injuries in the New Orleans Saints’ defense is Alex Anzalone. He has seen two of his three NFL seasons end very early as the result of a season-ending injury. Can he manage to stay healthy in 2020?

The Saints received a strong impact from Anzalone during the 2018 season when he recorded 59 combined tackles (3 for loss), 2.0 sacks, 6 QB hits, 1 interception, and 3 forced fumbles. That season accounted for 72.7% of his career regular-season appearances after three years in the NFL.

With the departure of A.J. Klein, the Saints will need to rely more on Anzalone during the upcoming season. The top priority is managing to stay healthy and then building off the impact he made in 2018. If he were to go down with an injury then Zack Baun likely would get his number called.
