Marcus Davenport
The New Orleans Saints had to give up significant compensation in order to land Marcus Davenport during the 2018 NFL Draft. It’s important he manages to raise his game in his third season given the investment the team has made in his potential as a player.
The 2019 season featured Davenport shifting to a full-time starter role opposite of Cameron Jordan and produced solid results for the Saints. In his 13 appearances, he recorded 31 combined tackles (5 for loss), 6.0 sacks, 16 QB hits, and 3 forced fumbles.
Teams are already well aware that they must send extra help to slow Jordan down. If Davenport can reach another level in his impact in 2020, the Saints’ opposition would have to think twice about their potential strategies to combat the two edges.
