Minnesota Vikings
There is a dire need for the Minnesota Vikings to add more talent at the cornerback position. They no longer have either Xavier Rhodes, Mackensie Alexander, or Trae Waynes and they haven’t done much of anything to replace them. Simply put, Mike Hughes and Holton Hill won’t cut it.
After trading Stefon Diggs to the Buffalo Bills, the Vikings have plenty of draft capital. However, they are currently sitting with the 22nd and 25th selections and will be out of position to land a prospect like CJ Henderson from Florida.
The most realistic option would be a trade up for Henderson but it seems the Atlanta Falcons may be interested in doing this, too. It would require the Falcons to give up less compensation to move up from the No. 16 spot, but something to consider, they have less overall draft capital.
There are obviously other cornerback prospects outside of Jeffrey Okudah and Henderson in this year’s class. That doesn’t mean the Vikings should simply settle for a different option without at least trying to get in a position in the draft order to be able to select Okudah or Henderson.
