Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Ever since Jameis Winston was drafted No. 1 by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, they have failed to put together a sufficient offensive line and overall defense in the same season. Their defense showed positive strides to end the 2019 season and making improvements to the offensive line is still a possibility.
One way the Buccaneers can bolster their offensive line is by adding a high-level prospect at the tackle position. That could require trading up from the No. 14 selection in the upcoming NFL Draft since a combination of three of Tristan Wirfs, Jedrick Wills, Mekhi Becton, or Andrew Thomas may be off the board by then.
Something to consider, the Denver Broncos are also reportedly interested in trading up to take an offensive tackle. That could mean all four offensive tackles projected to go in the first round could be gone if the Broncos were to successfully jump in front of the Buccaneers in the draft order.
It’s a new era for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and they no longer have the option getting away with putting together underwhelming supporting casts around the quarterback position. If the Tom Brady era doesn’t result in success, it’s difficult to envision the organization not being to blame.
