Carolina Panthers

The Carolina Panthers lost star running back Christian McCaffrey to a high-ankle sprain that could see him miss a total of six weeks.

After an 0-2 start, the Panthers have battled back with two straight wins to reach .500. The Panthers play the Falcons in Week 5, a game that should be winnable considering Atlanta’s recent track record.

Carolina has a chance to be over .500 after five weeks, and that could give the Panthers incentive to make a trade for Bell in the mean time. Bell could carry the load if he’s healthy — he was recently designated to return from injured reserve, and could play as soon as Sunday.

Then, once McCaffrey returns, the Panthers would have both him and Bell in an explosive pair of talented running backs.
