The New Orleans Saints are coming off a 2019 season that featured a 13-3 record. That success didn’t carry over into the playoffs as they lost in the Wild Card Round to the Minnesota Vikings with 26-20 being the final score.
A key contributing factor to the Saints’ latest shortcoming in the playoffs was the performance of Larry Warford. The Vikings targeted him using inside rushes and achieved strong results, including a strip-sack on Drew Brees in the fourth quarter.
The Saints decided to use the No. 24 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft on former Michigan offensive lineman Cesar Ruiz to help reinforce their offensive line. New Orleans plans to play him at the center spot and move Erick McCoy to guard in order to upgrade from Warford.
After being released by the Saints, Warford is reportedly seeking a contract comparable to the $7 million he was set to earn with New Orleans. There should be plenty of interested suitors considering he is a three-time Pro Bowler and is only 28-years-old.
With that being said, here are five teams who should consider signing former Saints offensive lineman Larry Warford.
