5 teams who should sign free agent DE Everson Griffen

Jim Dedmon-USA TODAY Sports

Seattle Seahawks

Along with Griffen, Jadeveon Clowney remains a coveted edge rusher that is still searching for a new team in 2020. Clowney, who spent last season with the Seattle Seahawks, appears to be headed elsewhere after failing to receive his asking price from the Seahawks.

With Seattle likely moving on from Clowney, Griffen has been someone they’ve been keeping tabs on this offseason. And according to Mike Garafolo, the Seahawks have actually had communications with Griffen already.

Despite signing Benson Mayowa in free agency, adding Griffen would unquestionably be an upgrade over what they currently. Seeing that Griffen is in the latter portion of his career, he likely wants to go somewhere that can contend for a Super Bowl and gives him some comfortability. Maybe reuniting with Pete Carroll — his head coach at USC — would convince him to join the Seahawks.
