Now that the rosters are pretty much set for a lot of NFL teams, we can begin to make some hot takes on their performance in the quickly approaching season. The Dallas Cowboys had a lot of moving pieces this offseason and they are hoping to see some improvement on the field moving forward.

One of the biggest moves of the entire NFL offseason was the Cowboys coming to an agreement on a massive long-term extension for quarterback Dak Prescott. They have a very dangerous offense, but their defense still has questions at this point in time. Jerry Jones and company still feel like they can compete this season.

All of that being said, let’s dive into five way too early bold predictions for the Cowboys in 2021.

5. The Cowboys Will Make The Playoffs

The first bold prediction I have for the Cowboys is that they will make the playoffs in 2021. The Cowboys suffered a major setback in 2020 following the injuries to several key players including their franchise quarterback Dak Prescott, but now that he’s back in the silver and blue the team is right back in the playoff mix in the NFC East.

The Cowboys made a lot of major upgrades to their roster, which could allow them to see an increased win total in 2021. I think the Cowboys are going to be a playoff team this year.

4. A Move From Worst To First Defensively

The second bold prediction I have for the Cowboys is that they will have the NFL’s number one defense when it’s all said and done. The Cowboys had the worst defense in the NFL last season, but some major upgrades to the flip side of the football could completely change the landscape of the Dallas defense.

Going from worst to first is a major deal, but the fact that they only drafted defensive players and put emphasis on an area of need throughout the entire offseason could make that a real possibility. Don’t be shocked if Dallas winds up with the top defensive ranking in 2021.

3. Dak Prescott Wins Comeback Player of the Year

The third bold prediction I have for the Cowboys is that Dak Prescott will earn the NFL’s Comeback Player of the Year Award.

Prescott suffered a gruesome ankle injury in 2020 which forced him to miss all but five games, but he’s looking like a top-notch candidate to be the NFL’s Comeback Player of the Year in 2021. The NFL saw a mind-blowing amount of injuries to star players last season, so there will be a lot of candidates for this award, but if Dak can lead the Cowboys back to the playoffs and play well in the process, this discussion could have some closure in the near future.

2. The Rookie LB Wins Defensive Rookie of the Year

The fourth bold prediction I have for the Cowboys is that rookie linebacker Micah Parsons will earn the Defensive Rookie of the Year Award. The Cowboys got a steal in Micah Parsons in the 2021 NFL Draft and I truly believe this selection will wind up being one of the best of the entire draft.

Parsons is as physical as they come at the linebacker position and he could use his exceptional speed and strength to his advantage and bring home a Defensive Rookie of the Year Award. He will be a huge part of turning the Cowboys defense completely around.

1. Zeke Will Get Back To Dominance

The fifth and final prediction I have for the Cowboys is that Ezekiel Elliott will rush for over 1,000 yards. Elliott has been a non-factor for the Cowboys the past couple years it seems, but I think that trend will vastly change very soon.

Elliott is one of the best backs in the league when he’s healthy, and I think behind a stout offensive line in Dallas with some great talent around him, he’ll get right back where he wants to be in 2021. Don’t be shocked if Elliott ranks among the best in rushing yards in 2021. Having him firing on all cylinders will be a huge bonus for the Cowboys’ offense.
