5 way too early bold predictions for the Eagles in 2021

The Philadelphia Eagles seem to have the majority of their roster set in stone and ready to go for the 2021 NFL season, and they are hoping to see some greater success than they had last season. The Eagles had one of the biggest overall changes this offseason as they got rid of their starting quarterback and brought in a brand new coaching staff to take over.

Jalen Hurts is ready to enter his first full season as the starting quarterback and the Eagles brought in a potential No. 1 wideout for him in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft in Heisman Trophy winner Devonta Smith. They have a lot of questions across their roster, but they improved offensively and defensively.

There are some bright things in store for the Eagles, so let’s take a look at five way too early bold predictions for the Eagles in 2021.

5. Jalen Hurts Is The Clear-Cut Starter

The first bold prediction I have for the Eagles is that Jalen Hurts will win the starting quarterback job. There is a lot of uncertainty regarding who will be the starting quarterback as there’s currently an open battle between Hurts, Joe Flacco, and rookie Jamie Newman.

If I had to guess, I would assume the starting quarterback will be Hurts as he saw some success as the Eagles’ quarterback a season ago and he could make major strides in his second season under center. Flacco will be a quality veteran backup, but this team is in Hurts’ hands.

4. The Second-Year Quarterback Will Make The Pro Bowl

The second bold prediction I have for the Eagles is that Hurts will be named to the Pro Bowl. Hurts has all the tools to be an elite quarterback in the NFL and I think he will have every opportunity to prove that in 2021.

Hurts is very well respected by seemingly everyone in the league and he is without a doubt one of the more popular figures in the league. If Hurts has a big season for the Eagles, he could very well be making his first Pro Bowl appearance in 2021. All of the stars align for an impressive season from the second-year signal caller.

3. DeVonta Smith Will Win Offensive Rookie of the Year

The third bold prediction I have for the Eagles is that rookie wide receiver Devonta Smith will win the Offensive Rookie of the Year Award.

Smith was a home run of a selection for the Eagles as he gives Hurts a familiar face to throw the ball to while stepping in to be the number one receiver from day one as well. Smith, who won a Heisman Trophy last season at Alabama, could have some big things in store for his rookie season in the league as well. He will put up big numbers and take home some hardware in 2021.

2. Philadelphia Will Make It To The Postseason

My fourth prediction is that the Eagles will make the playoffs. The Eagles are under a new coaching staff and have made a lot of upgrades in a lot of areas, which could give them enough of an edge to make the playoffs in the NFC.

Hurts has the upside to be a better quarterback than Carson Wentz and the additions of Devonta Smith, Javon Hargrave, and Anthony Harris give the Eagles some upgrades in some areas of need. Don’t be shocked if the Eagles are strapping up in the first round of the playoffs this upcoming season.

1. Nick Sirianni Wins Coach of the Year As A First-Year Head Coach

My fifth and final prediction for the Eagles is that Nick Sirianni will win the NFL’s Coach of the Year Award. It’s very rare to see a rookie head coach win the NFL’s Coach of the Year Award, but I think Nick Sirianni has what it takes.

Sirianni is a player’s coach that will do what it takes to put them in position to succeed both on the field and off of it. His passion for the sport of football shows with his emotions and he could very well be the major turnaround the Eagles need. A breath of fresh air is usually a good thing and it will work out for the Eagles.
