5 Way Too Early Bold Predictions For The Rams In 2021

Los Angeles Rams
NFL Analysis Network

The Los Angeles Rams are one of the best teams in the league and have been since Sean McVay took over as the team’s head coach, but they have a very optimistic season looming ahead of them. The thing about the Rams in 2021 is that they aren’t predictable following some significant roster changes.

Let’s take a look at how the new-look Rams could fare in 2021 season.

5. Rams will have a top three defense

The Rams could wind up having the number one defense in the league as they have some of the best defensive players in the league on their defense. Jalen Ramsey and Darious Williams are anchors of the Rams’ secondary while Aaron Donald and A’Shawn Robinson anchor the defensive line.

The Rams also have a great linebacker unit that includes Leonard Floyd and Micah Kiser and the team could benefit from all that talent throughout the season. Don’t be shocked if the Rams have a top three defense in 2021.

4. Rams will finish third in the NFC West

The Rams are a talented team, but they could struggle trying to keep pace with teams like Arizona or San Francisco. Their offense is expected to get better with the addition of Matthew Stafford, but the offensive line is still rather lackluster and they may not be able to keep pace.

The Rams could still make the playoffs from their third place spot if their record allows them to and that is a real possibility.

3. Matthew Stafford will be nominated to the 2021 Pro Bowl

Matthew Stafford has been in the NFL for 12 years and has only managed to make it to one Pro Bowl which was in 2014. That trend will come to a halt this upcoming season with a strong season playing under head coach Sean McVay.

Stafford will finally have some great weapons to throw to in Cooper Kupp and Robert Woods and he could see an upscale in terms of his production in 2021. I wouldn’t be shocked if Stafford beat out some other worthy Pro Bowl candidates to snag a Pro Bowl spot in 2021.

2. Rams will lead the league in total interceptions

The Rams have some ball hawks all over the field on their defense and they have a knack for creating turnovers. Jalen Ramsey and Darious Williams are interception machines from their respective cornerback positions and Taylor Rapp has big play potential from the safety position as well. It wouldn’t be shocking to see the Rams lead the league in interceptions in 2021

1. Aaron Donald will be named the league’s Defensive Player of the Year

Aaron Donald is only seven years into his NFL career and he could very well already have enough of a resume to be a Hall of Famer. He has established himself as the league’s best defensive player since his arrival back in 2014 and has been given the Defensive Player of the year Award three times so far in his career.

Donald is a force to be reckoned with from his defensive tackle position and the six time First Team All-Pro could back up that claim yet again in 2021.
