6 Players Linked As Possible Trade Targets For Chiefs Before Deadline

The Kansas City Chiefs have gotten off to a 5-1 start and have won five straight games, but it seems pretty clear that the team has some holes that need to be addressed.

Most recently, the Chiefs defeated the Denver Broncos by a score of 19-8 in Week 6 in a game that was far too ugly for Kansas City’s standards.

Outside of the Chiefs’ 41-10 win over the Chicago Bears in Week 3, Kansas City has actually looked very vulnerable throughout its first six games, meaning the club could (and should) be very active in trade talks in the lead-up to the Oct. 31 NFL trade deadline.

Grant Tuttle of Arrowhead Addict names six potential targets for the Chiefs to consider over the next couple of weeks: Arizona Cardinals receiver Marquise Brown, New York Giants receiver Darius Slayton, Broncos receivers Jerry Jeudy and Courtland Sutton, Seattle Seahawks tight end Noah Fant, Carolina Panthers running back Chuba Hubbard, and Carolina Panthers edge rusher Yetur Gross-Matos.

He also suggested that the Chiefs acquire Mecole Hardman from the Jets, which has already happened.

Not surprisingly, most of the names on that list are wide receivers. Kansas City is in dire need of more weapons in its aerial attack, as evidenced by the fact that Patrick Mahomes has his lowest passer rating (95.7) since he became a full-time starter in 2018.

Brown is the biggest name on the list, and given that he plays for a 1-5 Cardinals team and will be a free agent at the end of the season, he is a likely candidate to be dealt.

The 26-year-old has logged 29 catches for 334 yards and three touchdowns thus far this season and would represent the Chiefs’ most dynamic downfield threat since Tyreek Hill.

Slayton and Sutton would also be decent targets, but Brown would unquestionably be the most significant pickup of that group of names.

We should definitely keep an eye on the Chiefs between now and the end of the month.
