7 major takeaways from Week 2 of the 2020 NFL season

5. Bucs Found Their Running Back

The Bucs were extremely busy in the offseason. It ended with the addition of Fournette when he was released from the Jacksonville Jaguars. Heading into the season, Ronald Jones was named the starter but that should not be the case moving forward.

Fournette did not have much time with the Bucs before the season opener. Jones being named the starter made sense but after Sunday, it would not be wise moving forward.

Fournette led the Bucs in carries and yards on Sunday. He finished with 12 carries for 103 yards and two touchdowns. Plain and simple, Fournette is just a better player than Jones. He is a back that can solve the Bucs problems in the backfield.

The Bucs scored 31 points against the Carolina Panthers and picked up their first win of the Tom Brady. It would be surprising to see Jones get more reps than Forunette in the backfield moving forward.
