7 underrated NFL rookies that fans should keep a close eye on

The Los Angeles Chargers are among the teams that underwent a change at quarterback this offseason, moving on from Philip Rivers after 16 seasons. Nonetheless, the team believes Tyrod Taylor or rookie Justin Herbert can viably replace Rivers in 2020 — and beyond.

One player that could make the transition a bit easier is K.J Hill. Despite having a mid-round projection, Hill was selected by the Chargers in the seventh round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Coming out of Ohio State, Hill is a wide receiver that excelled out of the slot.

Of course, Keenan Allen also excels out of slot — while also having success on the outside — and Mike Williams should continue being the team’s No. 2 wide receiver in 2020. But it won’t be a surprise if Hill emerges as the No. 3 receiver on the depth chart by the end of training camp.
