Chicago Bears: 3 Best Performances from Week 9 Win vs. Bills

Pat O’Donnell, Punter

Let’s begin by giving some love to the Bears’ punter, Pat O’Donnell. The fifth-year pro punted six times on Sunday, averaging 40 yards per punt with a long of 61.

Not only that, but O’Donnell also pinned the Bills inside their own 20-yard line on five occasions, making it even harder for an abysmal offense to put points on the board. Couple his performance with that of Chicago kicker Cody Parker, who made both of his field-goal attempts and all five of his extra-point tries, and it was a clearly a banner day for the Bears on special teams.

The Bears won the field position battle against Buffalo, which is a huge reason why they were able to win a game in which they were heavily favored. Chicago’s offense didn’t play all that well, so that made field position even more important.

As such, major props go to O’Donnell, who did exactly what he gets paid to do on Sunday.
