Roquan Smith, Linebacker
The Bears may have been without Khalil Mack on Sunday, but he isn’t their only linebacker capable of making big plays. As a matter of fact, several members of their linebacking corps starred against the Bills.
Leonard Floyd was one Chicago linebacker who turned heads with a 19-yard interception that he returned for a TD in the second quarter. Furthermore, Aaron Lynch and Isaiah Irving each tallied sacks for the Bears.
But this came down to either Danny Trevathan (12 tackles, including seven solo) or Roquan Smith (12 tackles, including 10 solo). Ultimately, I decided to go with the latter, who just so happened to be the guy who forced the fumble on Eddie Jackson’s 65-yard fumble return for a score.
Smith is just a rookie, but he already shows signs of being a top-notch NFL linebacker. Sunday was one of the top performances of his young career, and playing alongside the likes of Mack and Trevathan should only help in his maturation process.
