Pittsburgh Steelers
The Pittsburgh Steelers displayed intriguing potential last season despite posting just an 8-8 record and missing the playoffs. Their defense displayed many strengths as a unit but the quarterback play was just too poor to overcome in terms of achieving wins.
Ben Roethlisberger will be back in the lineup for the 2020 season and it doesn’t seem likely it will be his final season. If he plays for two more years and then calls it a career, the Steelers would be in prime position to pursue a trade with the Green Bay Packers for Aaron Rodgers.
It’s always difficult to project too far into the future but a proficient quarterback could be required to compete in the AFC North. Joe Burrow will be in his third season, Lamar Jackson will probably only get better, and Baker Mayfield could turn things around.
