Aaron Rodgers, Packers proved they are still Super Bowl contenders in Week 1

The Green Bay Packers entered their Week 1 matchup with the NFC North rival Minnesota Vikings looking to prove a point. After finishing the 2019 season with a 13-3 record and a trip to the NFC Championship Game, the national media was very harsh. They called Aaron Rodgers “washed up” and some even predicted that the Packers would miss the playoffs.

However, in their first game of the season, the Packers shut all of those critics up. Rodgers put on a masterful performance and Green Bay moved to 1-0 on the season with a convincing 43-34 win over the Vikings that wasn’t as close as the final score indicates.

Speaking of Rodgers, he put together a massive statistical game. He shredded the Vikings’ defense to the tune of 364 yards, four touchdowns, and zero interceptions.

If the Packers’ offense can continue the level of play that they showed in Week 1, they are going to be tough to beat. The defense has some work to do, but there is a lot of talent to work with.

All of that being said, let’s take a deeper look at how the Packers proved that they are Super Bowl contenders once again this season.
