The New Orleans Saints currently are in negotiation talks with Alvin Kamara ahead of the 2020 season. It was reported by NFL reporter Josina Anderson they could look to trade the star running back if an agreement is failed to be reached.
This story emerged after Joe Mixon received a four-year, $48 million deal from the Cincinnati Bengals earlier in the day. A disconnect in the negotiations has occurred where Kamara is seeking close to what Christian McCaffrey received from the Carolina Panthers.
It appears necessary for Kamara to lower his asking price before the Saints can make something happen. New Orleans has a substantial number of key players to have to get deals done with ahead of the 2021 season and paying big money to Kamara would make it difficult.
For a team looking to contend in 2020, it’s very difficult to envision the Saints looking to trade Kamara to a fellow NFC contender. So keep that in mind when evaluating the potential landing spots that make the most sense for a potential deal with New Orleans.
With that, let’s take a look at five teams who should make a push to trade for New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara.
