Baltimore Ravens: 3 Goals for Michael Crabtree in 2018

USA TODAY Sports

At Least 90 Receptions

Michael Crabtree has never reached 90 receptions in his nine-year career. That’s slightly surprising, but why not now? It’s certainly possible with him being the best wide receiver on the team and with Flacco feeding him the ball. Crabtree is quite possibly the best receiver they’ve had since Steve Smith sported the purple and black.

To get 90 receptions, Crabtree will need to get about six catches a game. That’s assuming he starts in all 16 games, but it definitely is obtainable if he’s able to stay healthy. Health has never really been an issue for Crabtree so I’m not worried about that. Out of the possible 144 games he could have played in for his career, he has suited up for 125 of those. Like many people inside of football have said, the best ability is availability.

The Ravens also signed Willie Snead and John Brown at wide receiver so of course those guys will take receptions away. Crabtree is the most reliable receiver of the group though. Although it was preseason, Flacco hit Crabtree on a 30-yard connection against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 1. Those type of plays build up chemistry between a QB and WR.
