The Baltimore Ravens have already activated tight end Mark Andrews from the injured reserve list, and on Friday, head coach John Harbaugh revealed that the team may be getting yet another key piece back for the AFC Championship Game this weekend.

While speaking to reporters, Harbaugh said that cornerback Marlon Humphrey is trending toward playing against the Kansas City Chiefs.

“He looked good,” Harbaugh said, via the Ravens’ official X account. “I’m confident, but I can’t say for sure.”

Humphrey is nursing a calf injury that he suffered back in Week 17. The issue kept him out of the season finale and sidelined him for Baltimore’s Divisional Round win over the Houston Texans last week.

Getting Humphrey back on the field against Patrick Mahomes and Co. will obviously be crucial.

Injuries inhibited Humphrey all season long, as he played in just 10 games. During his time on the field, he logged 26 tackles, an interception and five passes defended.

The 27-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Alabama, was selected by the Ravens with the 16th overall pick of the 2017 NFL Draft.

Humphrey was solid his first couple of seasons, but he didn’t really break out until his third year when he racked up 65 tackles, three picks, a pair of forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, 14 passes defended and two defensive touchdowns. That performance earned him a Pro Bowl appearance and a First-Team All-Pro selection.

Overall, Humphrey has made three trips to the Pro Bowl, most recently doing so in 2022 when he registered 71 tackles, three sacks, three interceptions, a forced fumble, two fumble recoveries and seven passes defended.

Baltimore went 13-4 this season, finishing with the best record in the NFL and locking down a first-round bye in the playoffs. It will now battle the Chiefs for a chance to play in its first Super Bowl since winning it all back during the 2012-13 campaign.
