Ravens’ Lamar Jackson Doesn’t Hold Back After Losing To Chiefs

The Baltimore Ravens came up short in the playoffs yet again, and Lamar Jackson is getting tired of it.

Following the Ravens’ loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game on Sunday, Jackson was vexed.

“I’m not frustrated at all, I’m angry about losing,” Jackson said, via Tony Vozza of Heavy.com.

Jackson had a rather rough outing, going 20-for-37 with 272 yards, a touchdown, an interception and a fumble. His biggest lowlight off the performance was throwing into triple coverage on a key play in the fourth quarter, resulting in the Chiefs picking him off in the end zone.

“We had some opportunities. We just have to take advantage,” added Jackson, via Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic. “We’re just angry. We know how hard we worked to get here.”

Baltimore shot itself in the foot on multiple occasions against Kansas City, as evidenced by the fact that the team was hit with five personal foul penalties throughout the game. The Ravens were penalized eight times overall and turned the ball over three times. Meanwhile, the Chiefs committed just three penalties and did not give the pigskin away once.

What makes the loss even more difficult to swallow for Baltimore is that its defense held Kansas City scoreless in the second half after the Chiefs marched down the field several times over the first couple of quarters.

This comes after a season in which the Ravens looked dominant, going an NFL-best 13-4 and routing teams like the San Francisco 49ers (who the Chiefs will be facing in the Super Bowl), Detroit Lions and the Miami Dolphins.

But we have seen this song and dance before with Baltimore in recent years. The Ravens will look like legitimate championship contenders during the regular season, but then when the playoffs roll around, they will end up disappointing their fans.

It is certainly going to be a long offseason for Lamar Jackson and Co.
