Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens absolutely hammered the Detroit Lions in a statement game on Sunday afternoon, winning by a score of 38-6.
Jackson was fantastic in the victory, going 21-for-27 with 357 yards and three touchdowns while also carrying the ball nine times for 36 yards and a score.
According to ESPN, this was Jackson’s seventh game with four combined touchdowns while also completing 75 percent of his passes, the most by any player in NFL history before turning 30 years old.
Jackson is only 26.
On the season overall, Jackson has thrown for 1,610 yards, eight touchdowns and three interceptions while completing 71 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 101.9. In addition, he has rushed for 363 yards and five scores, averaging 5.3 yards per carry.
Week 7 represented what was, by far, Jackson’s best performance of 2023 thus far, as he had actually struggled somewhat in the early stages of the season. Over the preceding two weeks, Jackson threw one touchdown and two interceptions and did not reach the end zone as a rusher at all.
Jackson, who played his collegiate football at Louisville, was selected by the Ravens with the 32nd overall pick back in the 2018 NFL Draft.
He supplanted Joe Flacco as the starter during his rookie campaign and led Baltimore to a playoff appearance, which began the Jackson era for the Ravens.
Since then, Jackson has made two Pro Bowl appearances, earned a First-Team All-Pro selection and, most importantly, won an MVP award, which came during his sophomore year in 2019.
Baltimore handed Lamar Jackson a monster five-year, $260 million contract back in April.
The Ravens are 5-2 and will have a golden opportunity to improve their record when they head on the road to take on the struggling Arizona Cardinals next weekend.
