3. Tony Jefferson
Jefferson would bring a lot of positive qualities over to Chicago. He is a winning player that is used to playing on a strong defense. He spent the last three years as a member of the Baltimore Ravens’ secondary. Jefferson played just five games last season because of an injury.
The 27-year old safety would fit right in for the Bears. He is considered a box safety, which means that Eddie Jackson could remain as the high safety. Jefferson is an extremely physical safety, which fits into the history of the Bears’ defense.
In the 2020 NFL Draft, the Bears were rumored to be in the market for a cornerback. They could have drafted one on many occasions, but they opted not to. Jefferson is still on the market and that is a viable option for a team that will have to win on defense.
The Bears could start either Lucas or Deon Bush in their other safety spot. Adding Jefferson would immediately upgrade the position and shore up the defense even more.
