Bears: 3 reasons Chicago should go all-out to sign Tom Brady

3. Tom Brady is better than Mitchell Trubisky

Throughout the 2019 season, the Patriots’ offense had its ups and downs due to the lack of weapons. Rob Gronkowski retired after the 2018 season and the wide receivers were inexperienced outside of Julian Edelman.

As a result, for the first time since 2009, New England wasn’t in the AFC Championship Game. Even though Brady’s numbers weren’t ideal, he’s still better than Trubisky at this point in his career.

The future Hall-of-Fame quarterback finished 2019 with 4,057 yards, 24 touchdowns, and eight interceptions. Amid the missed passes and dropped balls, Brady proved he can still be effective through the air.

As for Trubisky, the third-year quarterback mightily regressed for the Bears. The former first-round pick ended the regular season with 3,138 yards, 17 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions.

Without a doubt, Trubisky had the more reliable receiving corps between the two. If you give Brady an arsenal of capable weapons, he can still pick apart a defense.
