The Chicago Bears were able to make the playoffs last season, but they need to make some moves this offseason in order to keep up in the NFC. First and foremost, they need to figure out what they want to do at quarterback. Then, they need to add more weapons for that quarterback, and free agent wide receiver DeSean Jackson could be a potential target.

Jackson, who has been riddled with injuries over the last couple of years with the Eagles, could be an ideal target for the Bears. He isn’t going to be expensive and if he can stay healthy, he can still make a major impact.

One NFL scout believes that the Bears could pursue Jackson this offseason.

“There will be a small market for (DeSean) Jackson. One team that has interest at the right price is the Bears. They need help at wide receiver and Jackson could be a perfect compliment to Allen Robinson.”

During the 2020 season with the Eagles, Jackson was only able to play in five games. He caught 14 passes for 236 yards and a touchdown. Those numbers aren’t to bad for only playing five games.

Leaving the Eagles was an obvious move that was going to happen this offseason. Jackson needs a fresh start and Philadelphia could not rely on him. A change of scenery to the Bears would be the kind of fresh chapter that Jackson needs.

If he is able to stay healthy, a team like the Bears would see their offense take a big step forward with him on the field. Robinson and Jackson would be very difficult for opposing defenses to contain. A good quarterback being added to the equation would make Chicago a very dangerous offense.

At 34 years old, the clock is ticking for DeSean Jackson. He only has another year or two of good football left in him. That makes this offseason a very important time for him to make the right decision on where to play.

Other teams will have interest as well. Among them could be the Green Bay Packers, San Francisco 49ers, and New England Patriots. However, the Bears make a ton of sense, assuming they are able to keep Robinson following the franchise tag they placed on him.

Expect to hear a lot of rumors about the Bears this offseason. Ryan Pace knows that he will need to be aggressive and they will look to improve on both sides of the football.
