Bears DT Fires Massive Shot At Packers Fans, Fuels Rivalry

The Chicago Bears are hoping that 2023 is their time to start turning things around as a franchise. They have only six playoff appearances this century and just as many seasons that finished with a record over the .500 mark. Things reached a low last season when they finished up on a 10-game losing streak and landed the No. 1 pick in that draft.

That, hopefully, will be the launching point to improvement. General manager Ryan Poles traded the No. 1 pick to the Carolina Panthers for a nice haul of draft capital and wide receiver D.J. Moore.

The supporting cast around Justin Fields has been improved and additions made to the defense should yield better results on the field. One of the players who the team hopes to help turn things around on the defensive side of the ball is Justin Jones.

Jones spent the first four seasons of his career with the Los Angeles Chargers after being a third-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft before signing with Chicago last offseason. He hasn’t been part of the rivalry with the Green Bay Packers very long, but will certainly keep it going with some recent comments that he made.

During a recent press conference, Jones went off on Packers fans. He called them a number of things, none of which are positive. Aaron Rodgers, who was traded to the New York Jets earlier this offseason, also found himself in Jones’ crosshairs during the press conference.

Rodgers famously taunted the Bears fans during a matchup in the 2021 season, yelling at the crowd that he owned them. There wasn’t much of a rebuttal from the fans or their team, as it is hard to argue against the statement that Rodgers made.

In his career, the future Hall of Famer started 29 games against the Bears and went 24-5. His remarks to the crowd are pretty accurate, as he beat them and Jones two more times last season. In 2023, Jones is hoping that things start turning around for Chicago as they will have a new foe to conquer in green and gold in Jordan Love.
