No. 5: Offensive Tackle Bobby Hart vs. EDGE Za’Darius Smith

The Bengals offensive line should be considered a notable weakness this early in 2018, and its Week 1 efforts hinted at this being the case.

Especially on the right side with offensive tackle Bobby Hart, who finished his efforts by allowing both sacks of quarterback Andy Dalton and also giving up three hurries, according to Pro Football Focus, amounting to a 40.4 pass-blocking grade on the day. When pressured last year, Dalton’s passer rating dropped from 90.2 down to 75.9, per PFF, meaning the task of keeping his quarterback clean will be a No. 1 priority for Hart and Co.

To do so, Hart will have to earn his merits against Ravens EDGE Za’Darius Smith, who picked up a sack in Baltimore’s win over the Bills in Week 1 and will look to improve upon his 3.5-sack campaign from 2017.

Smith, who subs in during pass-rush situations, hasn’t quite emerged as the Ravens’ defensive-front standout just yet. That honor still falls upon defensive tackle Terrell Suggs, whose pending matchup against Bengals left tackle Cordy Glenn will be another key factor in the game.

For now, though, Hart is the primary weakness for Cincinnati along the offensive line. Look for Baltimore to exploit that one-on-one matchup as much as possible.
