Bengals Get Rough Injury Update On Key Offensive Star

The Cincinnati Bengals were able to run their winning streak up to five games in Week 14, defeating the Cleveland Browns and exacting some revenge from their loss on Halloween. But, it wasn’t all positive as the Bengals came out of the game with some serious injury concerns.

On offense, their prolific passing attack could take a hit as they lost two starters in the game. Tee Higgins lasted only one play before he was sidelined for the rest of the afternoon because of a hamstring injury. This is the second time this season that Higgins was deemed good to go despite a hamstring injury and he failed to make it very far in the game.

Higgins is considered day-to-day according to head coach Zac Taylor, who gave updates during his press conference on Monday. The Clemson product was on the injury report last week, but following practice on Friday was said to be good, so he may have suffered a setback during warm-ups or on the first play.

Joining him on the sidelines shortly after was Tyler Boyd. Boyd made it through two snaps before injuring his finger. His injury seems a little more serious than Higgins, as Taylor said they will have to see where it goes as there are reports he suffered a dislocation.

If those reports are true, Boyd will most certainly miss some time. It would be hard as a wide receiver to catch passes with a compromised finger. The wide receiver duo is joining tight end, Hayden Hurst, on the injury list, who missed Week 14 with a calf injury that he said was nothing serious.

Luckily for Cincinnati, Ja’Marr Chase has been back in the lineup after missing multiple weeks with a hip injury. As long as Burrow has his No. 1 target in the lineup, he should still be able to work some magic. Trenton Irwin took over the role opposite Chase after the injuries with Trent Taylor not far behind in snaps.

On the defensive side of the ball is where the more devastating injury occurred, as defensive end, Trey Hendrickson may have suffered a broken wrist against the Browns. While Hendrickson won’t be placed on injured reserve, there has not been any official word on if he will miss the Week 15 matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
